EARLY MORNING CRASH SENDS ONE TO JAIL

BUSH,KAYLAFRANCES

Just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, Montgomery County Hospital District medics and the New Caney Fire Department responded to a reported major accident on SH242 at Hayden Road. They arrived to find a Chevrolet HHR with heavy frontend damage. In addition, the head of the guardrail was lying in the middle of the highway along with scattered pieces of the vehicle body.

The driver, 24-year-old Kayla Frances Bush of New Caney, had only a minor injury to her arm. She refused transport to the hospital.

Bush had been eastbound, and after hitting the guardrail almost head on, she traveled a short distance in the right lane against the guardrail before shooting across SH 242 and impacting the guardrail on the westbound side.

When Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Peterson arrived at the scene he performed standard field sobriety testing which Bush failed. She was taken into custody and is charged with Driving While Intoxicated. Her bond was set at $600.
