New Caney, Central Montgomery County, Caney Creek, Splendora and Porter Fire Departments headed to a residential fire on Pickering Road near Ranch Estates just after 3:30 a.m. on Monday morning.
New Caney was first to arrive on the scene where they found a home demolished by fire. The flames were spreading to the nearby woods and a large deck which stood apart from the inflamed house. Firefighters had to make way through high brush and a locked gate to gain entry to the home. At 4:50 a.m. the fire was extinguished.
