HARRIS COUNTY, TX- A New Caney man has been charged in the death of a woman investigators say was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. That “wrong place” they say, was in the path of Bryson Ryan McClure, who was trying to evade arrest in a stolen pickup.
The tragic incident occurred just after 3 p.m. Friday when the white Ford F250 McClure was driving eastbound in the 12700 block of The Grand Parkway / SH 99 service road reached a major intersection. The victim was northbound on the Hwy 249 service road in a Toyota 4Runner. Investigators say she had a green light when she reached the intersection with the SH 99 service road and started through the intersection, but never reached the other side. McClure, fleeing from DPS Troopers and Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies, allegedly ran the red light and plowed into the woman’s vehicle.
The woman, whose identity hasn’t been released, was already dead when medics arrived. Law enforcement documented McClure’s speed as 115 mph.
McClure, who was driving a vehicle reported stolen, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He was then arrested and transported to the Harris County Jail.
Although the crash investigation is ongoing, and charges may be added, law enforcement said McClure will be charged with Murder and Evading Arrest / Detention with a Vehicle or Watercraft, in addition to Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (based on the truck’s having been reported stolen in Bexar County).
McClure made local news in 2016 when he fled from the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, leading a pursuit on a stolen motorcycle. Fortunately, that episode ended without anyone innocent being harmed.
Public Data shows McClure was arrested by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for Evading Arrest in a Vehicle in 2013, and has been arrested for that crime as well as Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle in multiple jurisdictions around Texas since that time.
(Yep- MCSO has more pics of this guy than his granny does!)
