EBT FRAUD SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER $2,000 RETAIL SCAM

HARRIS COUNTY, TX- On January 7, 2026, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a Fraudulent Use of Identification call at the Sam’s Club located in the 300 block of East Richey Road.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that a male suspect, identified as Jorge Jimenez, was in possession of an altered EBT card and had used it at self-checkout to purchase approximately $2,000 worth of merchandise, including energy drinks and coffee.

Jorge Jimenez was arrested and transported to the Harris County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of Tampering with a Government Document with Intent to Defraud. His bond was set at $3,500 out of the 195th District Court,” Constable Mark Herman said.
