MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- A Splendora Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on US Hwy 59 at FM 2090. During the stop, officers noticed multiple passengers in the vehicle who were not properly restrained, leading to further investigation.
After a roadside investigation Officers arrested the driver for Human smuggling. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe for booking.
Officers on scene then contacted U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement and provided all investigative information to Agents.
Mario Isaac Lacayo Bermudez, 26, of Houston is charged with second-degree felony Smuggling of Persons: Pecuniary Benefit. His bond is set at $10,000 and he remains held in the Montgomery County Jail.
