MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- All parents with students at Splendora ISD’s Timber Lakes Elementary School received a disturbing message from the school around 1 p.m. Friday, but some parents learned something far more alarming.
A message posted privately for parents stated the school was placed on “Hold” status while EMS provided care to several students. It went on to state the parents of those students were contacted and the “Hold” was lifted. The post then simply thanked parents for their understanding and partnership.
Some TLE parents went to social media, angry about the information being vague. However, it appears the administration was gathering information (and probably consulting the district’s attorney) before sending an email from TLE Principal Stephanie Morse to all parents, with more details, including that a student handed out THC gummies to a few classmates.
“This incident was isolated and all students affected are being monitored by medical professionals,” the email stated. “We commend the elementary staff for quickly identifying the students affected and contacting their parents.”
The email continued, assuring parents their children’s safety was the school’s top priority and then asking parents to talk with their children about the dangers of “taking any unknown substance.”
