MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- On Wednesday, a Deputy with Pct. 4 Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden’s Office conducted a traffic stop that led to the felony arrests of 34-year-old Nicole Gunderson of New Caney, and 33-year-old Steven Tanton of Conroe.
During the stop, Gunderson attempted to avoid going to jail by giving the Deputy a fake name. However, the Deputy recognized both Gunderson and Tanton, and knew both had active felony warrants.
Deputies arrested Gunderson on a Pct. 4 case with a warrant issued last April for Felony Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Gunderson was in possession of illegal narcotics including a variety of prescription pills not prescribed to her, and were divided into small plastic bags. She also had methamphetamine.
Deputies arrested Tanton on a November 2022 Motion to Revoke warrant out of Montgomery County. He was originally arrested for felony Assault / Family Violence with Strangulation and Continuous Abuse Against the Family and Assault Family / House Impede Breath / Circulation. Both charges are third-degree felonies.
Constable Hayden said his agency has no intention of slacking off in their efforts to make East Montgomery County safer by holding criminals accountable and removing as many violent offenders and illegal drugs as possible from the streets and neighborhoods of Precinct 4.
“Like me, many of my Deputies grew up here and chose to raise their families here, and all of us take our commitment to this community very seriously,” Constable Hayden said.
Constable Hayden’s late father, Charles Hayden was also a law enforcement officer who served as Precinct 4 Constable for 12 years. Constable Hayden’s three sons all carried on the family tradition and became public servants, with two in law enforcement and one as a firefighter.
