EXTREME WARRIOR COMES TO CONROE

Saturday morning runners began what is called the Warrior Dash on the grounds of Three Palms Sports Park.

Approximately 18,000 athletes are expected through the weekend to run the 3.2 mile obstacle course. It is not the ordinary 5k run. This race includes obstacles from mud pits, to fences, nets for a total of twelve.

"Our motto is ‘the craziest frickin’ day of your life’ and we really like to give that to our participants," said Munirah McNeely with Warrior Dash. "This is taller than normal. We beefed up all our obstacles this year."

Warrior Dash travels the country. This one will be the 14th race in 3 years. Besides the normal race loot, every participant gets a fuzzy helmet.

Races will be again Sunday from 8am to 5 pm. Parking is $10 for spectators. To park travel south on the feeder from South Loop 336 in Conroe. It will be on your right just before River Plantation. From there school busses take you to Three Palms and to the event. Wear shoes that are comfortable. There is some mud on the grounds but very little. Good food, turkey legs, beer, and good music plus watching the runners go through the course.
