DPS Investigated a major accident scene Friday evening just after 5pm at Hill and Dale Terrace and First Terrace in Splendora. A Dodge pickup pulling a Kubota tractor was southbound on Hill and Dale Terrace driven by William Lewis of Porter. A Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Rozelle Weaver of Nacogdoches and her passenger Barbara McDaniel were eastbound on First Terrace. The intersection is an uncontrolled intersection having no stop signs.
Weaver pulled out into the path of the pickup was struck entrapping her in the vehicle. The pickup ran off the road and through a fence. The trailer and the tractor flipped over.
Splendora firefighters were called to the scene to remove the door of the van to free Weaver and her passenger who were transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Weaver was cited for failing to yield right of way.
