On Sunday afternoon, two juveniles (ages 14 and 15) were kayaking in the Trinity River near Browder Marina when their kayak flipped over. Their father of one of the children was on the shore, with a third child, and witnessed the incident. The man immediately jumped into the water and attempted to swim to where the kayak flipped. Unfortunately, he also vanished into the water.
Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable Philip Cash’s Lake Patrol Dive Team responded to assist Texas Parks and Wildlife in the search. The bodies of the two juveniles were recovered. The initial search for the father was unsuccessful. The recovery effort will resume Monday morning.
