FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) Fargo Police say the officer involved in a Wednesday night shooting on the city’s north side is not expected to survive.
He’s identified as Officer Jason Moszer.
Moszer was involved in an active shooter situation in the 300 block of 9th Avenue North that sent the neighborhood into lockdown.
During an emotional news conference early Thursday morning Fargo Police Chief David Todd said he took Officer Moszer’s wife to the hospital where doctors told them his wound was not survivable.

FARGO – Fargo Police say a man with long-rifle fired multiple rounds at officers responding to a domestic dispute at 308 9th Avenue North.

Scanner information indicates an officer may have been hit during the exchange, but police have yet to confirm if anyone was injured.
Reports came in before 9:00PM of a man shooting at his family.
Officers and SWAT set up a four-block perimeter from 2nd Street North to 4th Street North and 8th Avenue North to 10th Ave North.
The suspect reportedly called the Red River Regional Dispatch asking the agency to evacuate neighbors because he was planning to shoot at responding officers.
The Fargo Police issued an emergency alert to residents in the 300 block of 9th Avenue North, urging them to stay inside and go to their basements.
Nearby Sanford Medical Center says it’s still operating, but following emergency protocol to keep patients and employees safe.
Right now, multiple agencies are on scene. SWAT is using a negotiator and other tactics to detain the suspect.
That suspect’s name is not yet being released.

FARGO – A man with multiple guns holed up in a north Fargo home has been shooting multiple rounds are police officers stationed throughout the neighborhood, Fargo Deputy Police Chief Joe Anderson said.
What initially started as a domestic situation escalated quickly, with dozens of officers setting up a perimeter that included at least five blocks.
Anderson could not confirm around 10:45 p.m. if an officer had been injured.

FARGO – Reports of an officer down in North Fargo went over radio dispatch, but dispatchers are unable to confirm that as the scene remains active. Residents say they’ve heard a number of gunshots. Initial reports suggested at least four shots have been fired.

FARGO – Police sent out an emergency alert to north Fargo residents warning them to stay in their homes and go to the basement after a man with a firearm in his home fired shots.
The alerts went out to residents near the 900 block of Third Street North at about 9 p.m.
Around 9:10 p.m., at least three rounds of what sound like gunshots were heard nearby. Smoke could also be seen, but its source could not be identified.
A SWAT team and Bearcat armored vehicle were at the scene.
Earlier, a dispatcher said police are responding to a call of a domestic dispute in the 900 block of Third Street North. The dispatcher said media and the public are asked to stay out of the area because it is an active scene.
Police vehicles were blocking about a four-block radius around the scene.
The area is just north of Sanford Health.
