At 10:24pm DPS along with Magnolia Fire Department and MCHD responded to a report of a auto pedestrian accident on SH 249 about 6 miles south of Magnolia near the intersection of Hardin Store. They arrived to find Jason Seth Thomley, 42 of Pinehurst dead on the scene. During the investigation Trooper Hill and Trooper Oelsner found that Thomley ran out of the woods in front of a 2013 Nissan Altima driven by Jennifer McLaughlin, 43 of Tomball. They determined Thomley failed to yield to McLaughlin when he was struck. No charges have been filed at this time.
Montgomery County Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Matt Masden ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
