Just before 11 p.m. Monday night a 19-year-old female who relocated to the area from Wisconsin was eastbound on Crighton Road. Just as she crossed the new bridge west of the entrance to Crighton Ridge Subdivision she lost control of her Ford Taurus. The vehicle left the roadway striking a tree and flipping on its side. The female who was wearing a seatbelt was partially ejected.
Montgomery County Hospital District along with the Conroe Fire Department responded to the scene. She was already deceased.
Judge Trey Spikes pronounced her dead and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport her to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The bridge is almost completely replaced a much more dangerous wooden bridge. Motorists are urged to watch their speed as they cross the new bridge.
