Just before 9:30 Tuesday night MCHD and Conroe Police responded to a major accident reported at South Loop 336 and River Pointe.
When EMS arrived they found a yet unidentified male had crashed his motorcycle into a Landstar 18-wheeler driven by Thomas Mcclure of Franklin, Indiana. Mcclure was crossing South Loop 336 to continue east on the loop to pick up a load at a local business on Wednesday. . The unidentified male who struck the truck male was pronounced dead on the scene by Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Spikes. An autopsy was ordered and he was transported to the Montgomery County Forensic Center by Eickenhorst Funeral Directors.
According to witnesses the motorcycle had been “burning out” and running at high speeds in the parking lot of Kroger and Incredible Pizza. He then exited the parking lot at a high rate of speed almost laying the bike on the side as he exited.
The motorcycle continued west on the loop where a skid mark of over one-hundred feet was found before impact was made into the fuel tank area of the 18-wheeler.
The impact was so great that it ruptured the fuel tank spilling some diesel onto the roadway.
Milstead Wreckers loaded both the motorcycle and the 18-wheeler.
Conroe Fire Department remained on the scene to was the diesel fuel down.
Sgt. Robert Engel with the Conroe Police Department was assisted by other members of the CORT team investigating the crash. The road was reopened just before 1 a.m.
