Just after midnight Sunday morning, Dustin Pope, 21, of Conroe was westbound on his what is believed to be a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle with Alexis Flowers, 21, on Conroe on the back. They had just passed Airport Road when a 2018 Chevrolet pickup driven by Kimberly Hutchison, 30, pulled out of the Conroe Ice House driveway to travel east on the Loop. She did not yield to the motorcycle and struck it. The occupants of the motorcycle were ejected, and the motorcycle burst into flames. Pope was transported to HCA Conroe in critical condition with a head injury. He was pronounced deceased just after 3am. Flowers was also transported to HCA Conroe in critical condition with head and lower extremity injuries. She remains hospitalized. Pope’s family made the decision to donate Pope’s organs to LifeGift. Conroe Police are investigating. Hutchison did submit to a blood draw, which will be sent off for testing to determine if she was impaired.
