Just after 11 p.m. Tuesday North Montgomery County Fire Department was dispatched to a major accident on Little Egypt Road near Old Montgomery (Thousand Oaks). They arrived on the scene to find a 2003 Dodge pickup in the woods with extensive damage. The driver, identified as Christopher Hickman, 28, of Greenleaf Drive in Conroe, was pinned in the vehicle. With the roof down against the seats fire fighters had to cut the roof and doors off the vehicle to free him.
PHI Air Medical was notified but canceled within seconds when Emergency crews determined is condition was extremely critical and needed to be at a trauma center as soon as possible.
He was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:39 p.m.
According to troopers, Hickman was traveling north on Little Egypt at a high rate of speed when he left the roadway for unknown reasons crashing into the trees.
Hickman was not wearing a seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment due to the angle he struck the trees.
