PRESS RELEASE – Sept. 16, 2009
On 09-15-09, approximately 11:30 pm, Conroe Police patrol officers and members of the Community Oriented Response Team (CORT) responded to a reported major accident in the 15300 block of I-45 South in Conroe. The CORT unit investigates traffic related incidents that result in the death or possible death of any person.
Investigators learned that a 1995 Ford Explorer was traveling southbound on the I-45 main lanes and for an undetermined cause, the driver lost control of the vehicle. According to evidence at the scene and witness accounts, the vehicle left the roadway. The driver of the vehicle, Fred Cannon, 04-29-48, apparently attempted to take corrective action which caused the vehicle flip and come to rest in the median between the southbound main lanes and service road.
