Just after 2 am North Montgomery County Fire Department was dispatched to a major accident with power lines down on Deerwood Drive near Highline. The first unit on the scene requested a second truck and a Battalion Chief as he had a Nissan passenger vehicle against the power pole with power lines on the roadway and the driver trapped. After about 20 minutes they were able to free the driver, a 43-year-old male from Conroe was pronounced deceased on the scene. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center. Troopers say the vehicle left the roadway traveling eastbound for unknown reasons.
