SPLENDORA- Around 8 a.m. an adult male was northbound on Tram Road off of FM 2090 when he lost control of his 2002 Chevrolet pickup for unknown reasons and left the roadway, causing it to flip.
The driver was already deceased when first responders arrived. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Jorge Luis Rivera, Jr. of New Caney.
The Splendora Fire Department responded and contacted the New Caney Fire Department for assistance in what turned out to be a lengthy extrication.
Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace James Metts conducted an inquest and had the body transported to the Southeast Texas Forensic Center for autopsy.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating.
