FATAL CRASH ON CROCKETT MARTIN

Just after 8:30 pm Thursday night Caney Creek Fire and NMC Fire were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash with entrapment on Crockett Martin Road in Conroe. Units arrived on the scene to find a 2001 Ford Explorer on its side in the woods. A male and female were entrapped. Firefighters worked to free the male passenger and female driver. The male was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital in critical but stable condition. The 29-year-old female went into cardiac arrest during the rescue. Crews worked on her for an extended time but were unable to save her. DPS Troopers investigated the crash. A witness stated that she was northbound when the Explored approached her southbound at a high rate of speed. She then stated the vehicle appeared to be turning and vanished. DPS Troopers found where the vehicle swerved hard to the left, crossed the northbound lane, went through a fence, and slammed into a large tree putting the Expedition on its side. Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Jason Dunn responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. The victims’ names will not be released until later., Kwik Tow Towing of Cleveland removed the SUV from the scene.
