Just after 1 pm Wednesday Cleveland Fire Department and Plum Grove Fire Departments were dispatched to a head-on crash on FM 1010 near County Road 332 which is between Cleveland and Plum Grove. Units arrived to find two vehicles with heavy damage. A 4-year-old boy was on the ground and believed to have been thrown from the Nissan Rogue. A female in her twenties was trapped in the vehicle. SHe was removed and both she and the boy were transported by Life Flight to Memorial Herman in the Medical Center. A female in her seventies was trapped in the Toyota. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics. Cleveland firefighters had to cut her out of the vehicle. DPS investigated the crash. The Nissan was northbound on FM 1010 when the Toyota, which was southbound drove into the northbound lane hitting the Nissan head-on. The boy is reported to be in stable condition with the female who was transported and is in critical but stable condition. FM 1010 reopened at 3 pm. The names have not yet been released. Smith Towing removed the Toyota and J+J removed the Nissan from the scene.
