Just before 530pm Friday, a 19-year-old male from Missouri was traveling north on FM 1314 just south of Crighton Road when witnesses say he tried to pass. His 2017 Dodge RamĀ Commercial Van slammed head-on into a 2017 Ford F-350 pulling an empty dump trailer. The impact was so great that wreckers spent over an hour separating the two vehicles. Caney Creek Fire arrived on the scene with MCHD. The driver of the van was deceased. The driver of the Ford was transported with facial injuries and a possible broken leg. The firefighter spent close to 20 minutes cutting the victim out of the van driver’s seat. DPS is investigating the crash that completely closed FM 1314 for close to 6 hours. DPS is asking any other witnesses to call the DPS Conroe Office. The van was owned by a local Conroe business. Eickenhorst Funeral Directors responded to the scene and transported the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. DPS was assisted with traffic control by Montgomery County Precinct 2 Constables.
