East Montgomery County Firefighters responded to a reported major accident on FM 1485 Monday at 11:39 pm. Units arrived to find a Toyota with heavy damage in the ditch. The driver, a male in his 20’s had been ejected. Further investigation determined the male was deceased. The crash happened in a curve that, years ago, claimed multiple lives due to road conditions. The road had been improved, but is now going through a new overlay process. The driver was southbound at an extremely high rate of speed. HE came off the roadway, traveled close to 100 yards through the ditch, hit a culvert pipe, and went airborne, causing the vehicle to begin to roll. After traveling several hundred feet, the driver was ejected. FM 1485 was closed for close to three hours as the investigation continued. The driver was transported to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy by Eickenhorst Funeral Directors. Body Colors Wrecker removed the Toyota from the scene. The road reopened just after 3 am.
