FATAL CRASH ON SH 105 EAST

Just after 4 pm, North Montgomery County Fire and MCHD responded to a crash on SH 105 East at Duck Creek. They arrived to find the road shut down with a Ford F150 with front-end damage and a Chevrolet Colorado with front-end damage. The driver of the F-150 was not injured, but the driver of the Chevrolet was in cardiac arrest.  MCHD worked to stabilize him before transporting him to HCA Conroe. The 85-year-old driver was pronounced deceased on arrival at HCA Conroe. SH 105 was closed for almost an hour as DPS investigated the crash. After speaking with several witnesses, they learned the Chevrolet was south on Duck Creek. After stopping, the driver turned left onto SH 105 toward Clevealand. The driver of the Ford attempted to avoid the collision by swerving but was unable to. DPS says speed was not a factor in the crash. Milstead Wrecker removed the Chevrolet, and Melvins Wrecker removed the Ford from the scene.  The road reopened close to 5:30 pm.
