About 10:30pm Friday night HPD says a couple traveling on HWY 59 just north of BELTWAY 8, when there car had mechanical failure and left them stuck in the center lane of traffic with out any power or lights on the vehicle… As traffic swerved around the disabled car, the female passenger began to panic… Her husband tried to calm her down, but she jumped out of the car and attempted to cross moving lanes of traffic to the shoulder lane of the freeway… Three 3 cars managed to avoid hitting the lady, but a fourth vehicle, a dark colored SUV was not… The SUV struck the female and kept going… The female was pronounced dead at the scene and police are looking for the SUV and it’s driver..
