FATAL CRASH ON WILLIS WAUKEGAN

At 5:40 Tuesday morning Emiliano Estevez Martinez, 23, of Conroe was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup at a high rate of speed northbound on Willis Waukegan. As he approached the intersection of Fallow Deer he attempted to pass a utility truck and a Nissan pickup. As he was passing another vehicle leaving the subdivision was turning off Fallow Deer onto Willis Waukegan. Estevez attempted to get back into his lane. As he did he almost clipped the front of the utility truck he was passing. With the wet roads, he went into a side slide. His vehicle crossed the southbound lane of Willis Waukegan and slammed into a tree on the passenger side crushing the cab. The vehicle then rolled over. The utility truck driver slammed on his brakes to avoid the collision and was rear-ended by a Nissan pickup. An off-duty firefighter arrived on the scene and called dispatch. MCHD along with NMCFD responded to the scene. Once the driver was extricated he was pronounced deceased. Montgomery County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Trey Spikes ordered Eickrenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. DPS investigated the crash. There were no other injuries. The utility truck and the Nissan suffered minor damage. The speed limit on Willis Waukegan is 40 mph. Residents in the area say most vehicle travel at 60 plus. One resident said it is like playing the video game Frogger trying to cross the road to get mail.
