FATAL CRASH SH 105 EAST AT LEE TURNER

At 10:45 am Sunday North Montgomery County Fire responded to a reported head-on crash at Lee Turner at SH 105 in far east Montgomery County. First units arrived on the scene and found an 18-wheeler had t-boned a Honda Civic in the driver’s door. Both vehicles went to the ditch on the south side of SH 105. First responders immediately started CPR on the 37-year-old male from Honduras who resides in the Cleveland area. Medics arrived and pronounced him deceased just after 11 am. DPS investigated the crash with an MCSO Unit assisting with traffic control. Traffic was forced to use the shoulder of the westbound lane as it was alternated but closed at times as DPS Troopers scaled the scene with a drone. According to DPS, the Honda Civic was pulling out of Lee Turner Drive onto SH 105. The 18-wheeler loaded with tires was westbound and struck the Honda which failed to yield right of way. Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Jason Dunn ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. The road reopened close to 2 pm. The 18-wheeler was removed from the scene by All Points Wrecker. The Honda was removed by NCIS Wrecker. This has been the second fatal crash in just under a month. On November 20, 2024, a young mother pulled out of Lee Turner and was struck and killed. Her 3-month-old baby remains in the hospital in critical condition.
