At 10:45 am North Montgomery County Fire was dispatched to a reported crash at FM 1097 and Cude Cemetery. They arrived on the scene to find a pickup pulling a trailer that had been eastbound up against the concrete wall in the westbound lane. A Texas Game Warden had a male in his 60s on the ground performing CPR. Firefighters continued CPR assisted by MCHD medics but the male was pronounced deceased on the scene. Witnesses say the truck just came to a rolling stop where it was found with minimal damage to it. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office worked the scene with DPS assisting with traffic. FM 1097 was closed in both directions. Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Jason Dunn ordered Eichenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. It is believed a medical episode caused the incident. No other vehicles were involved. FM 1097 reopened just after 12:30 pm.
