FATAL FIRE IN WILLIS

For the third time this year North Montgomery County Fire Department has responded to a fire which involved injury or death.
The latest fire claimed the life of an optometrist working part-time at J.C. Penney’s in the Woodlands.
Firefighters from North Montgomery, Lake Conroe, Montgomery and New Waverly fought the blaze which was reported just after 1:30am in the 13500 block of North Lee Shore Drive in the Shadow Bay Subdivision.
Mrs. Maslovitz was awakened by the smoke detector and was able to escape the blaze. She was transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center, where she was also an employee, in stable condition with smoke inhalation.
Her husband, 57-year-old Bernard Maslovitz perished in the fire.
The Montgomery County Fire Marshals Office continues to investigate the cause of the blaze.
