At 2:16 a.m. a 2006 Toyota Tundra driven by Kyle Ray Bennett, 33, of Conroe was northbound on Old 105 just north of of Southshore Drive and the Lake Forest Falls Subdivision when he left the roadway for unknown reasons. The vehicle continued through the ditch, struck a culvert pipe, and crashed through a wrought iron gate at a private residence. In doing so a gas meter was also broken off and power line to an electric gate at the home. The truck also uprooted several trees before coming to rest upside down in the front yard.
Lake Conroe Fire Department arrived on the scene and was able to get Bennett out of the vehicle.MCHD arrived on the scene and determined Bennett was deceased.
Old 105 was closed as DPS Troopers investigated the crash with Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office assisting with traffic control.
According to DPS, Bennett, was not wearing a seatbelt and was driving at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred.
It was possible that Bennett was responding to a call from his fiance’ after she had her vehicle broken into at a business on SH105.
Bennett is also the father of a young child.
