On Thursday, September 18th, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Harris County Sheriff’s Office patrol units were dispatched to The Standard at Champions apartment complex located at 6701 West FM 1960 in reference to an unresponsive individual. When units arrived on scene, they found that the complainant, later identified as 20 year old Troy Styles, had been shot. Styles was pronounced deceased at the scene. Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide detectives learned Styles mother had tracked the complainant’s phone to the location and had come there searching for him. Detectives are unclear on what circumstances led to the shooting and believe the shooting took place the previous evening. At this time, there is no suspect information for this case.
