FBI Houston continues to work around the clock supporting FBI New Orleans in its investigation of the Jan. 1 Bourbon St. terrorist attack. FBI Houston has been tracking down and pursuing hundreds of leads, conducting searches and interviews, and gathering evidence. We will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
On January 1, after obtaining a court authorized warrant, FBI Houston’s SWAT and Bomb Technicians, with support from Harris County Sheriff’s Office, safely cleared the suspect’s north Harris County house of any potential threats to the safety of nearby residents. FBI Houston’s Evidence Response Team (ERT) then began its search of the home. ERT completed its thorough, hours-long search of the suspect’s house on January 2, secured it, and released the property to the owner that morning. On January 3, FBI Houston returned to the area only to seize a vehicle near the residence in furtherance of the ongoing investigation.
We’re grateful to our local law enforcement partners who are assisting the FBI in this matter, including the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Police Department- and to the men and women of FBI Houston who continue to work nonstop in support of FBI New Orleans and in memory of the victims of this evil act.
We ask anyone in Houston who interacted with the suspect, in any way, or has any piece of information to please call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
FBI New Orleans remains the lead in this investigation and all official information will come from the FBI. For updates, visit www.fbi.gov/bourbonstreetupdates.
