Just after 11 a.m. Timber Lakes Fire Department received a call from that a structure was on fire in the 1700 block of Sawdust Road just west of Sawmill. As first units arrived they determined the intensity of the fire consuming Prestige Automotive Restoration was to intense and had already weakened the structure of the business to allow firefighters inside to fight the blaze. Within minutes they went to what is called a “”Defensive Fire”, basically attempt to keep it under control and from spreading to any other structures.
TXDOT’s Transtar cameras at the Hardy Toll Road and IH45 captured the column of black smoke rising from the blaze.
The Woodlands, Needham Road, South Montgomery County and Magnolia Fire Departments assisted Timber Lakes in bringing the fire under control within a short period of time.
The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the blaze which they do not feel is suspicious in nature.
