Just before 2 p.m. Monday Magnolia Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire on Dorris Lane just off FM 1488 in far west Montgomery County. When they arrived they found a garage totally involved with fire spreading into the mobile home. A woman and 4-year-old child made it out ok but two dogs were still inside. One was recovered almost immediately, the second took some time searching in the zero visibility conditions with extensive heat. That dog was then brought out and having difficulty breathing was put on oxygen.
Firefighters spent almost an hour on the fire which is being investigated by the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office.
