At 9:40 Sunday night Splendora Fire Department was dispatched to a mobile home fire on Fostoria Road close to SH 105. When they arrived they found a shipping container full of material had caught fire and the radiant heat from it had transferred to tires stacked next to it outside. Additional assistance was called for water and manpower. Cut and Shoot, Caney Creek, North Montgomery County and Cleveland responded with tankers.
The fire was finally extinguished at midnight and all equipment was returned to service.
