Just after 11 pm Magnolia Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 20800 block of Dry Creek Road. It was reported that a heat lamp started the garage on fire and was spreading to the house. Magnolia arrived on the scene assisted by Woodlands and Tomball. Smoke was visible on arrival. Due to a large amount of debris at the front door they were unable to enter the home. The same was true for the garage. Once they were able to get into the garage they were met with heavy fire conditions. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames. That is when another firefighter discovered a female in the back of the home and was able to get her to safety. It is believed she had been out of the home and gone back in looking for two cats. MCHD checked her but she refused to go to the hospital. The garage suffered heavy fire damage, however, firefighters were able to stop the spread to the rest of the home. The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
