FIRE TRUCK CRASH SENDS FIREFIGHTER TO HOSPITAL BY AIR MEDICAL

A Cypress Lakes Firefighter remains in Herman Hospital this morning after a crash yesterday.
Approximately 3:30pm Monday Cypress Lakes Fire Department was responding to assist Tarkington Fire Department on a barn fire on County Road 2291 and County Road 2296.
While enroute the wheel of their tanker left the roadway on 2285 near 2815. The driver apparently over corrected causing the tanker to flip ejecting the firefighter.
He was flown to Hermann Hospital by Lifeflight with a broken hip, leg, and other injuries. He is undergoing surgery this morning for the back injury.
