Just before noon Tuesday Splendora, New Caney, Porter and Caney Creek Fire Departments were dispatched to a house fire on Woodforest Lane in the Deerwood Village Subdivision in Splendora.
Splendora arrived on the scene first to find heavy smoke coming out of the gable end of the roof. Firefighters made a fast attack on what appeared to be a kitchen fire that spread to the attic. The fire was quickly extinguished keeping damage to a minimum. As firefighters checked for hot spots other crew members carried in salvag covers in an effort to protect any other furnishings from further water or falling sheetrock damage.
The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office was notified to investigate the blaze.
