FIREFIGHTERS SAVE DOG IN MOBILEHOME FIRE

Just before 9 pm EMC and Porter firefighters responded to a mobile home fire on Knoll Acres just off FM 1485 and Willaby. Units arrived with smoke and fire showing. The homeowner told firefighters his 15-year-old  dog was still inside. As firefighters made entry they were able to quickly knock the flames down. A crew discovered the dog in the living room and brought him out. MCHD units on the scene administered oxygen to the dog who after about 15 minutes stood on his own and started walking around. The Montgomery Couty Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate to determine the cause of the fire which extensively damaged the home.
