Just after 6 pm Montgomery Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire on Grand View Drive in the Grand Harbor Subdivision on Lake Conroe. They arrived to find heavy smoke on the two story home. Once firefighters entered the home they were met with heavy fire in the attic area. A second alarm was pulled bringing in North Montgomery, Lake Conroe, Conroe and a fireboat from North Montgomery County Fire Department Lake Station. Additional tankers were also dispatched for water supply as there are few hydrants in the subdivision.
Officials believe the fire started as a chimney fire in the rear of the house. The home suffered significant damage which was mostly limited to the rear of thee home and the attic area.
There were no injuries.
