FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 PM CDT this
afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southeast Texas... including the following
Brazoria... Chambers... Fort ... Bend... Galveston... Harris...
Liberty... Matagorda... Montgomery... Polk... San Jacinto and
Wharton.

* Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon

* showers with embedded thunderstorms produced 4 to 8 inches of
flooding rain overnight from in and around the Houston area to
the Liberty area. Some major roads in and around the Houston
area are closed... and people are urged to stay home and avoid
driving this morning. Additional storms are moving into the
area from the west and will be capable of producing more rain
that could cause more flooding issues.

* Additional rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches with isolated
higher amounts are possible through early this afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
