FLEEING SUSPECT LINKED TO STOLEN VEHICLE RING

HARRIS COUNTY, TX- On Tuesday, a Lieutenant with Constable Mark Herman’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 20000 block of Schiel Road. Upon stopping, the driver immediately exited the vehicle and fled on foot toward a nearby business strip center.

Despite repeated verbal commands to stop, the suspect continued to flee. The deputy deployed a department-issued Taser, and the suspect was safely detained without further incident. He was identified as Justin Bowman.

During the arrest, Bowman was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a vehicle programmer. Further investigation revealed Bowman had previously evaded Precinct 4 deputies earlier this month and was linked to a stolen vehicle ring, resulting in the recovery of 11 stolen vehicles.

Investigators also determined Bowman was wanted by Pardons and Parole for Evading Arrest, as well as by multiple jurisdictions, including:

  • Harris County for Evading and Stolen Vehicle

  • Montgomery County for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

  • Walker County for Obstructing Justice, Interfering with Emergency Services, and Assault

“Bowman was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on the outstanding warrants and charged with Evading Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance. His total bond was set at $50,000 out of the 183rd District Court,” Constable Mark Herman said.
