Flood Advisory

Flood Advisory issued April 6 at 7:43AM CDT until April 6 at 10:45AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX
Alert: * WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
counties, Grimes, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker
and Waller.

* WHEN…Until 1045 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 742 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 4 and 5 inches of rain
have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Huntsville, Willis, New Waverly, Point Blank, Montgomery,
Todd Mission, Huntsville State Park, Dacus, Dobbin, Oakhurst
and Plantersville.

Instructions: Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
