FLOOD GATES DOWN AT ROBERTS CEMETERTY
Flood Warning issued May 14 at 8:24AM CDT until May 14 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX
Alert: * WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
counties, Grimes, Montgomery and Walker.
* WHEN…Until 700 PM CDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated
with water and may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 823 AM CDT, Emergency management reported closed roadways
in Montgomery County due to flooding from earlier heavy
rainfall in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring.
Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. The following
roadways have been reported as not passable in Montgomery
County: FM 149 at Jackson Road, Johnson Road between FM 1097
and FM 1486, Bailey Road, and West FM 1097.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Pinehurst, Magnolia, Montgomery, Bedias, Dacus, Richards and
Dobbin.
Instructions: Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
