FLOOD WARNING ISSUED FOR LAKE CREEK NEAR THE WOODLANDS

Montgomery County Officials and the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management are monitoring current and forecast river conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning from February 22, 2017 2:30pm until February 23, 2017 2:00am or until warning is cancelled for the following rivers:

• Lake Creek near The Woodlands

Minor flooding is already occurring and it is forecast that it will fall below flood stage by this evening.

Roads that are impacted at this time:

• Superior Road @ Lake Creek is impassable and barricaded at this time
• Honea Egypt @ Lake Creek Water over the road

Please use extreme caution when approaching any area that may be flooded. Do not drive or walk into flooded areas the depth and force of the water could be too great for you to cross safely. When driving, avoid any roads with water over them and find an alternate route.
