About 3:30 am Tuesday morning an Uber driver saw a male in his late 20’s riding a bicycle on SH 105 near FM 1485. After the driver dropped his fare and was returning he spotted the male on the ground on the westbound lane of SH 105 just east of FM 1485. He called 911. North Montgomery County Fire responded to the scene along with MCHD. Paramedics pronounced the male deceased. DPS responded to the scene as Montgomery County Deputies assisted with traffic. The bicycle was found in several pieces along the roadway. One part was actually struck by another vehicle and drug several hundred feet away. That driver stopped. DPS Troopers investigated the scene. The vehicle that hit the bicyclist fled the scene. DPS is currently checking security cameras as traffic at the time was extremely light. Anyone who may have seen the crash or a vehicle involved is asked to contact the DPS Conroe Office. A death investigator from Montgomery County Forensics responded to the scene and requested Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to Montgomery County Forensics for autopsy.
