FM 1485 REOPENS AFTER 5 CAR CRASH

Approximately 1:30 pm Saturday  New  Caney Fire Department and MCHD were dispatched to a major accident on FM 1485 at Sullivan Road. When they arrived they had three patients that were in critical condition trapped in a Ford Escort.  Once freed, the female driver was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in Houston in critical condition. Two others were taken to Hermann Hospital in the Woodlands in serious condition. Several others were transported from four other vehicles involved.

According to witnesses a 2013 Nissan Frontier  was east bound on FM 1485 when he began to fishtail for unknown reasons. The Frontier crossed the center line and struck the Escort head on. A Ford F150 behind the Escort then slammed into the Escort and a Hyundai Sonata  then hit those vehicles and ran into the ditch. A Nissan Armada also suffered minor damage, The female driver and her two sons were uninjured.

The driver of the Frontier was transported to Kingwood Hospital, his passenger was uninjured. The driver of the Ford F-150 was transported to Kingwood Hospital in stable condition. The driver of the Sonata was uninjured.

FM 1485 was closed for almost two hours as DPS investigated the crash.
