640PM-FM 1485 in front of the Lake Houston Wilderness Park has just reopened following a fatal crash about 3:30 pm Sunday. A Nissan Armada was traveling west on FM 1485 on wet roads when the male driver who was in his 40’s, lost control and skid into the oncoming lane. The driver of the eastbound Impala, a male in his 70’s, was hit head-on. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. His wife and back seat passenger, also in their 70’s were transported to the hospital in critical condition. The male driver and his wife along with their 11-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son in the Armada, which rolled over after striking the Impala were not injured. DPS is investigating the crash. It has not yet been determined if seatbelts were used in the Impala.
