At 1:50 pm Monday a Ford F750 electrical contractor crane truck was eastbound on FM 2854 at Collier Cemetery. As the truck came through the curve the tire blew outputting the truck on its side in the ditch. The driver and passenger were trapped. Montgomery and Lake Conroe Fire Departments had to cut the victims out. The 19-year-old driver was pronounced deceased on the scene. The passenger suffered minor injuries. DPS investigated the crash. Montgomery County Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Matt Masden ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. FM 2854, a major road between Conroe and Montgomery remains closed as HAZMAT crews work to clear the scene.
