About 10:30 p.m. a south bound train was approaching Conroe. Just after it passed through the intersection of FM 3083 several axles became dislodged from the cars causing heavy track damage. As a result the train is stopped across the FM 3083 intersection and is unable to move. Railroad workers are assembling crews and equipment to disconnect the cars in the rear and clear the intersection. They do warn though that it may not be clear by the Thursday morning commute.
At this time FM 3083 is closed between FM 1484 and Frazier/Highway 75. Conroe Police are on the scene diverting the traffic.
